Te Omeka Perkins grew up inside the music of his father Carl Perkins, learning keyboards, harmony, songwriting and live performance through whānau and the early Shem years.
Alongside Carl and Isaiah, he became a central voice, songwriter, musician and producer in House of Shem’s three-part family sound.
Through Omeka Productions, he continues that work with independent releases, production and artist development for the next generation.
Shem Perkins first reached audiences around the world as a five-year-old drummer. Te Ao Māori News reported that his childhood drum videos went viral, building a following of more than 4,000 while he toured and rehearsed with House of Shem.
Today, Shem carries that foundation forward through drums, songwriting and next-generation releases. His collaboration with Arepa Perkins, Cruise, debuted at No. 11 on the official Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles chart in May 2026.

Arepa Perkins is a musician, singer, songwriter and recording artist developing an individual sound through Omeka Productions. His debut release with Shem Perkins, Cruise, brings the Perkins whānau foundation into a new generation while giving both artists space to stand under their own names.
Cruise debuted at No. 11 on the official Hot 20 Aotearoa Singles chart for 8–14 May 2026 and was released through Omeka Productions.
